YK SHIP'S FUTURE

YK SHIP Future Directions

In providing services for the automotive logistics market, YK Ship Pte Ltd is positioned strongly for the future; the Land Transport Authority (LTA) has estimated that there will be between 50,000 to 60,000 cars that will be deregistered in 2015, a large pool that potentially will land in foreign countries as exported cars, a staple of YK Ship's business. Mr Lim believes their expertise will let them garner a significant part of these exports.

Furthermore, YK Ship Pte Ltd has purchased a light industrial warehouse for storage of light cargo to provide affordable storage space for their clients, providing a cost-effective solution for clients who feel squeezed by the increasing costs of such spaces. It is also a great way for the company to give back to the clients who have supported them throughout the years, as well as a method to sustain the business with an alternative revenue stream.

"We believe that businesses must give back to the community and the employees whenever possible," said Mr Lim, urging aspiring entrepreneurs to remember the social responsibilities of running a successful business. "Your employees depend on you for their livelihood, and we have to invest in their training, take care of their benefits, and encourage them to grow as individuals."

With a firm belief that their culture is not only conducive for business, but also the right way to conduct business, Mr Lim's leadership is set to bring YK Ship further success in the future.

YK Ship Pte Ltd takes great pride in providing the personal touch for their clients, treating the cars and goods as their own, and the sincerity of their actions have seen them retain and grow their clientele over the years despite increasing price competition. Mr Lim and his staff often go above and beyond what any logistics company would do, even verifying the state of the cargo using photographs and videos, sending them to their clients, before shipping it to them.

"These services can't be bought by money, we go the extra mile because we are passionate about our job," explained Mr Lim. Despite their focus on automotive logistics, YK Ship Pte Ltd continues to provide logistics agency services for clients, including customs clearance, delivery and trans-shipments, bread-and-butter services for any logistics company.
The company currently operates a licensing warehouse at No. 7 Penjuru Close where they house high-end cars from Italian luxury brands Ferrari and Lamborghini, as well as an export processing zone (EPZ) at Turf City for deregistered and new cars that the company exports and ships. With the allure of car ownership as high as ever, YK Ship Pte Ltd is poised to ride the wave to further success.
